The issue in these consolidated cases is whether the public building exception to governmental immunity is applicable to the facts presented. We are persuaded that the Legislature intended the building exception to apply where the injury is occasioned by a physical defect or dangerous condition of the building itself. As neither case involved an injury caused by the physicalcondition of the building, we hold that the public building exception is inapplicable to both cases. FACTS AND PROCEEDINGS
